Great for growing your own vegetables. It takes 17 cubic feet of soil, which is a lot, but I was able to fill the lower layers with peat and save myself a lot of expensive soil and lifting. Although I planted bulbs which won't have deep roots and topped them with pansies and other winter plants, the bed is plenty deep in case you need it. I filled the bottom level with drainage stones just in case.

The brown plastic body is not unattractive being the exact color and texture of my brown resin wicker patio furniture so it looks very natural next to my patio. I especially like the two levels as I made this into a winter/spring seasonal flower bed. Filled with plants it looks great, and is a great display as well as very functional.
